Good. Frontline medical personnel first. They are heroes one and all.

Moderna has publicly stated these mRNA class of (so called) vaccines "may permanently alter Human DNA".
Think I'll wait this one out!

@Penfold
Every virus infection, you have ever had in your life, has permanently altered your DNA.
Yubaru
Would have been one of those "egg on the face, Japan-style" moments if they HADN'T approved it.
Hell the shipment came in yesterday, and there was no way anyone would have said no.
Yubaru
No they did not! This is cherry picked information! And anyone who passes along half-arsed info, just like twitter and FB, should have their posts removed!
You should be ashamed for passing along fake, counter productive information!

No, they haven't.
These false claims have been debunked again and again by real scientists.

Those of us with common sense have read about the mRNA technology and how the past decade of research has led us to having real effective science backed vaccines in record time.

@Yubaru.
Great minds think alike.
As I was writing my response to the ludicrous claim by Penfold, you had posted your reply.

It's not surprising to read anti-democracy nations like Russia and China have paid armies of keyboard warriors to pour fuel on fires in states with bits of democracy left, pit anti-vaxxers against democratic governments. And the question has to be asked: are Russia's keyboard warriors also attacking vaccines that compete for market share with their Sputnik V version?

"We've long known that vaccines would play a large role in fighting the novel coronavirus."
So, why didn't you oh so great people (re-)act earlier and faster?
Wait and wait until some Japanese company can also come up with a vaccine to get a piece of the pie?
Gambling, playing with people's lives or just sitting their enjoying your cushy job?
Yubaru
Not "come up with" but be able to produce it here. And yeah all about the "piece of pie".
If the world had to wait for Japanese pharma to come up with a viable vaccine, we'd all be dead!
zatoizugoodo
My doctor literally laughed about the vaccine. Time to find a new doctor.

Any proff??, source??..
Do mRNA vaccines change your DNA?
No. COVID-19 mRNA vaccines do their work outside of the nucleus in the cytoplasm. DNA is in the nucleus.

Read and learn, inform better, follow science, take your vaccine and cut the drama.. ;)
dan
@kentarogaijin Don't dictate to us what we should do.

Better late than never. Get on it.

The selected vulnerable should start to receive a postcard with date and appointment for vaccine.

So silly of me to think that there are only 20,000 health workers in Japan. The initial 20,000 was for further study. No political will. Japan really just can't trust the millions of people who are already fully vaccinated.

You should the article again and think some more @justasking

Hahaha thanks for this

What's very conspicuous by its absence is any mention of Japan's own vaccine , presumably still under development by AnGes and Osaka University. I have seen it mentioned in other forums recently, even mentioning status of trials, but a stunning silence from Japan Inc. Are they being cagey about it or is there some share market manipulation going on ?
virusrex
Between experts nobody is expecting anything being developed in Japan for the current year. Government's upport is tiny while the fight with red tape is huge, just to be able to do preclinical trials months of paperwork and committee approvals are necessary. From that to go up to phase I, then phase II and eventually to get to phase III probably it would take up to 2022, by that time everybody would be already vaccinated so getting the tens of thousands people to run the trial becomes almost impossible (and to get enough of them to get the infection at that time so it can be proved as effective it would be more than impossible). So it would be better just to forget completely about it.
It may be developed anyway for the scientific advancement in general but by that time we will probably get the pandemic already under control or much better vaccines from overseas (more potent, cheaper, or with nasal spray application for example).
Japan became the land of the impossible for developing drugs and vaccines for human use, you should see how many Japanese researchers simply choose to go to the US to produce new things.

So true. The obsession with guidelines and rules hinders scientific curiosity and research freedom. Here, the rules dictates what you can do. That's why we don't have companies like Facebook, Google, Tesla, SpaceX etc.

Leave me alone with your fake news, data and so-called vaccines.
