We lost it on the night. The boys gave their all but not good enough on the night trailing 3-1 from the first leg. Real Madrid didn't even need to score to win. Out of Europe this season and maybe next one too. Real Madrid will most likely win the championship again.

My brother, a Kopite, sent me this stat:

Liverpool have had 129 shots at Anfield in 2021 and have scored 3.

Simply horrific. Defeated by major player injuries like Van Dijk. The performance of goalkeeper Alission went down because Van Dijk was out. Gomez and Matip causing numerous problems for center backs. More recently losing our captain Hendo was another major blow. The players are better when there are the fans urging them on.

I think next season should be about getting the injured players back. Some new players and rebuilding the team. The future looks very good.

Emre Can pretty much cost Dortmund both legs. Terrible giveaway in the first leg, and now putting his arm out in a weird position. I agree with the ref on this one.

The four teams that played the best football are safely in the CL semis. Gaffers Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola are blessed with an array of competent goal keepers, astute defenders, versatile playmakers, and deadly strikers. Karim Benzema, Mason Mount, Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden, Neymar Junior, Kylian Mbappe and their colleagues will look forward to giving their best and keeping their fans and neutrals on their toes over the two legs. All the best.

I guess Chelsea would be the outsider out of that four, so I’ll say C’mon, Chelsea!
