Good riddance.

Meanwhile, today he encouraged a mob attack on the House of Representatives a woman protest was murdered by someone.

6 ( +17 / -11 )

I think he’s mistaken greatest first term for worst

20 ( +26 / -6 )

I thought I could be an adult but i struggle given his infancy.

Orderly? That ain't happening.

This POS slash POTUS incited the chaos.

15 ( +19 / -4 )

“While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Trumps future path is clearly to enter comedy. With zingers like the above he cant lose.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

Sounds like he knows he went too far & is now trying to cover his arse

15 ( +20 / -5 )

there will be an orderly transition

A little late don't ya think?

19 ( +22 / -3 )

Where was the orderly transit yesterday at his Washington rally used to rattle the base who invaded the Capitol Building some whom were armed. 4 people dead.

No conceding.

Unlikely to attend the inauguration.

Trump is delusional.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

But he’s also a liar and a loser.

18 ( +22 / -4 )

Good riddance grub.

a woman protest was murdered by someone.

Willingly breaking the law, engaging in rioting amongst heavily armed people on all sides. Stating that she was prepared to "fight to the death for Trump".

Early Darwin award candidate for 2021.

24 ( +26 / -2 )

Invoke the 25th. Remove this failed fascist before he does it again. And that scumbag TED CRUZ.

Former defence secretary Mattis:

"Today's violent assault on our Capitol, an effort to subjugate American democracy by mob rule, was fomented by Mr. Trump," said Mattis, who served as Trump's first secretary of defense, in a statement provided to ABC News.

"His use of the Presidency to destroy trust in our election and to poison our respect for fellow citizens has been enabled by pseudo political leaders whose names will live in infamy as profiles in cowardice

Enough is enough. Even queer old Lindsay Graham said it. Not sure how that works after for years of enabling but it is the insane Republican Party.

17 ( +21 / -4 )

*four years, sorry

4 ( +7 / -3 )

What trump says and what trump does are two really different things. I hope Biden can bring the country together and trump divided everyone.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

"...it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Wait wait, I thought we'd moved on to 'Keep America Great'? Do we have to do the whole making it great thing again? So hard to keep track of the level of greatness amongst all the winning, lying, stealing, corruption, failure, death, violence and humiliation.

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Trump supporters need some tissues what happen to that landslide...

9 ( +12 / -3 )

“We love you. You’re very special.”

They’re “very fine people,” I guess.

/s

11 ( +14 / -3 )

What we shouldn't miss in passing is that many of the same senators who were condemning the actions of the "domestic terrorists" easily vote for aid packages to groups who do the same thing in other countries or support the actions of the US military to overthrow elected leaders of other nations. Why is violence at home condoned and violence abroad applauded?

13 ( +16 / -3 )

He will go down in history as the worst President ever. And also as a loser.

He really should be impeached for what he’s done the last few days. I have a feeling that there would be 19 GOP votes to convict him.

Tried to coerce an election official to change an election. It’s on tape. He’s obviously guilty.

He incited a riot in an attempt to subvert an election he lost. An act of insurrection. Again, all on tape.

His own advisors, what’s left of them, think he’s lost his mind.

He’s a danger to national security and should be removed immediately. We cannot wait 2 weeks.

19 ( +23 / -4 )

Trump is a just symptom of a toxic democratic system that doesn’t serve the people anymore

-7 ( +9 / -16 )

Trump is like that popular bully kid in high school. In reality, his supporters were the bullies who peaked in high school and is no where to go right now. They felt left alone by the success of the nerds and the geeks and Trump gave them hope.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

At least 4 people would be with their families if he had originally done what he was supposed to do. Criminal.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Can’t promise to finally go to bed after smashing all your toys and peeing on the carpet.

There’s going to have to be some bad boy corner time.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump added, “While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Beautiful comedy. Lap it up you loons.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Trump spent much of Wednesday afternoon watching the insurrection on television from his private dining room off the Oval Office. But aside from sparing appeals for calm issued at the insistence of his staff, he was largely disengaged as the nation’s capital descended into unprecedented scenes of chaos as a mob of thousands tried to halt the peaceful transition of power.

Instead, a White House official said, most of Trump’s attention was consumed by his ire at Vice President Mike Pence, who said he would not overturn the will of voters in the congressional electoral count.

The violence, coupled with the president’s tepid response, appeared to drive many Republicans to the breaking point after years of allegiance to Trump. In a sign of growing frustration, a number of White House aides were discussing a potential mass resignation

Trump has been single-mindedly focused on his electoral defeat since Election Day, aides said, at the expense of the other responsibilities of his office, including the fight against the raging coronavirus. Indeed, it was Pence, not Trump, who spoke with the acting defense secretary to discuss mobilizing the D.C National Guard on Wednesday afternoon.

Trump only reluctantly issued the tweets and taped a video encouraging an end to the violence. The posts came at the insistence of staff and amid mounting criticism from Republican lawmakers urging him to condemn the violence being perpetrated in his name, according to the official.

Wow, that's an egregious dereliction of duty. He's more concerned about himself than what's happening in the nation. His response for calm even took more than 90 minutes after the Capitol was breached

Dunno why he even wants to keep the job if he doesn't want to do the work

But it's done over for him now - the votes have now been Constitutionally certified. There's no more legal recourse for appeal

It's so surreal that a President of the United States would ever get himself suspended on social media accounts, even with all the special privileges afforded to the Highest Office

And with losing the Senate, it only took 1 term of a Trump Presidency to turn everything Blue. That's how much the country has turned due to him

14 ( +15 / -1 )

It will be orderly if the US government doesn't shoot another unarmed woman who was merely protesting for her vote to be counted.

You don’t need to do it anymore. It’s over.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

Good. Now scram.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump is like that popular bully kid in high school. In reality, his supporters were the bullies who peaked in high school and is no where to go right now. They felt left alone by the success of the nerds and the geeks and Trump gave them hope.

That is precisely it.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Trump is a just symptom of a toxic democratic system that doesn’t serve the people anymore

Another one who suddenly changed tune. You were all for the checks and balances of the system until...well...just now.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

You know what is really funny about this? One of Trump’s aide’s had to post this statement for him. Because Trump is still suspended from Twitter.

What a loser.

16 ( +17 / -1 )

Disgusting man.

I thought the election was America's big test. But this is it.

Trump. his sons, and all those Governors who supported him in his attempt to overthrow democracy MUST be tried and imprisoned.

4 people are dead. There can be no 'show of leniency' or 'taking the higher path'. Actions must have consequences.

Over to you America.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Trump has already obstructed two months of what should have been an orderly transition, attempting to frustrate the incoming administration. The best he can do is make is less disorderly.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

U.S. arms sales increased during the Trump administration. Now, in the Biden administration, those arms will be used in the next military actions. Coke (Reps) & Pepsi (Dems) both are bad for your health.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

drump has been single-mindedly focused on his electoral defeat since Election Day, at the expense of the other responsibilities of his office, including the fight against the raging coronavirus. It was Pence, not Trump, who spoke with the acting defense secretary to discuss mobilizing the D.C National Guard on Wednesday afternoon. (Nero anyone?)

“Responsible members of the Cabinet” should be thinking about fulfilling their oath of office by invoking the 25th since trump has “violated his oath and betrayed the American people."

10 ( +11 / -1 )

@Runtu DaHillz

U.S. arms sales increased during the Trump administration. Now, in the Biden administration, those arms will be used in the next military actions. Coke (Reps) & Pepsi (Dems) both are bad for your health.

Let's not talk about what you believe might happen in the future. Let's talk about what has happened (Facts). trump sold lots of weapons in the Middle East for mostly personal favors. He will be one of the causes for any upcoming wars in that region.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Folks, he is lying! WHY would you believe him now? I say he will cause major death and chaos in order to stay out of jail. 21 indictments are going to hit him in his face on Jan 21st, so nothing to lose.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Trump, the serial arsonist, who has done nothing but start fires for 4 years, says he's finished...

That's just like Trump the serial adulterer saying once he's cheated, he'll be faithful...

Just ask Ivana, Marla, and Melania how that turned out...

Don't believe it...

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Too late the damage is done now its time to lock him and his family up traitors..

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Orderly Trump is an oxymoron. Trump, by himself, is just a moron. The end.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Ha, what a loser. Marine One will drop him into the nearest correctional facility. Do not pass go. His enablers, his apologists, too late to row back now. The law is coming.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Good - finally

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I so wish he'd remain the muppet he is to get kicked out by a probably very eager secret service. He still has time to break things though.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

The man is so in love with himself. The concept of Hubris itself must be like "what is wrong with this guy?"

8 ( +9 / -1 )

@Therat: Jan 21? Try Jan 20 at 12:01 pm.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I, for one, am looking forward to the Trump fanatics here to explain why this is just the beginning, that the election isn’t over yet, and that Trump will be starting his second term in two weeks.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

I, for one, am looking forward to the Trump fanatics here to explain why this is just the beginning, that the election isn’t over yet, and that Trump will be starting his second term in two weeks.

Me too. We heard so much about it over the past months. What a cliffhanger!

9 ( +10 / -1 )

The real enemy of the US is Trump who divides the country and attempts a coup while his people are lied to and brainwashed.

The danger is to allow this ex-president to work behind the scenes in the next four years and continue his seditious movement. This is not going to go away. Wake up.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

@ozellis: This POS slash POTUS incited the chaos.

You talking about the old guy or the new guy? Seems to be a sad yet fitting end to a full year of riots across America.

Me too. We heard so much about it over the past months. What a cliffhanger!

This isn’t the end of the divide among the American people. Biden will push a far Left agenda. It’s sad that the government insists on intruding into people’s lives. The US Constitution was constructed to prevent that. We are obviously living in a post-Constitutional era in more ways than one.

-26 ( +1 / -27 )

The republicans have failed their party, the country and the people.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

No no, I was talking about the trump getting a second term cliffhanger. It was Tomo’s Ed today more than a few times.

And another one suddenly becoming anti government and constitution. Don’t catch your feet in the cogs backpedaling so fast.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

It was Tomo’s Ed today more than a few times.

*promised today. (Not by Tomo)

6 ( +6 / -0 )

well... there's one thing you can say about this presidency';

He certainly swamped the drain.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

It’s sad that the government insists on intruding into people’s lives. The US Constitution was constructed to prevent that.

Sadly, ideology seems to always take precedence over the Constitution.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Bret Stephens, conservative NYT columnist, writes:

The duty of the House of Representatives and the Senate, once they certify Joe Biden’s election, is to reconvene, Wednesday night if possible, to impeach the president and then remove him from office and bar him from ever holding office again.

To allow Trump to serve out his term, however brief it may be, puts the nation’s safety at risk, leaves our reputation as a democracy in tatters and evades the inescapable truth that the assault on Congress was an act of violent sedition aided and abetted by a lawless, immoral and terrifying president.

From the moment Trump became the G.O.P. front-runner in 2015, it was obvious who he was and where, if given the chance, he would take America. He was a malignant narcissist in his person. A fraudster in his businesses. A bully in his relationships. And a demagogue in his politics.

He did not have ideas. He had bigotries. He did not have a coalition. He had crowds. He did not have character. He had a quality of confident shamelessness, the kind that offered his followers permission to be shameless, too.

All this was obvious — but was not enough to stop him. America in 2015 had many problems, many of which had gone too long ignored and were ripe for populist exploitation. But by far the biggest problem of that year was that a major political party capitulated to a thug. And the biggest problem of every subsequent year has been that more and more of that party has excused, ignored, forgiven, colluded in and celebrated his thuggery.

Biden will push a far Left agenda

if you consider Biden far left does that make Alex Jones a centrist?

17 ( +17 / -0 )

One of the darkest periods in U.S. history is about to end ... however, the fallout will last for decades.

16 ( +16 / -0 )

BLM protesters = thugs. Full force.

Capitol Looters = special people. Hold the door open.

That’s not a message America needs anytime. Right now it’s incendiary. Flush this turd.

17 ( +17 / -0 )

Grab your popcorn for the civil war within the GOP.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I am surprised - didn't think that even the break-in his mob into the capital building - an act of violence he (trump) incited - would silence the monster - but I guess - eventually they'd have to take it the Supreme Court

and then then the burden of proof that the election was stolen would be Trump - which they have not been able to prove...catastrophic...the Reps need a brand new brand...a new and charismatic and untainted torch bearer...what was the hold the D had on folks - he wasn't even clever?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Decades of Republican gaslighting and lies culminating in today's coup attempt and there will be people who still support them and Trump. They can't even count, 81 million is larger than 75 million. Even the most basic tenets of thought and reason are long long gone.

With the EU selling out for a trade deal with China and the rise of stupid-ism exceptionalism, Biden better be able to turn this around or the 2020's are going to be the end of liberal democracy.

This won't be fixed in a single term either, the rot is clearly to the bone.

China and Russia are cheering

USA is over, whatever we thought is there, isn't there anymore

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Biden will push a far Left agenda.

Only hyperpartisan far right "Americans" believe in the fervent toxic rhetoric like this that is fed to them by toxic hyperpartisan "conservative" media groups that prefer authoritarian regimes to democratic elections because of the potential loss of power for their chosen political leanings. You don't like it because it was a LEGITIMATE ELECTORAL LOSS FOR "YOUR" preferred political groups. You slaver over your own lies and mis-truths

It’s sad that the government insists on intruding into people’s lives.

No, you just support the gub'mint intruding on other peoples lives to enforce your beliefs on others... but easily cry "foul!" when your imaginary perceived "rights" that don't exist are taken to task. REALITY just checked that.

The US Constitution was constructed to prevent that.

And a bunch of CULT 45ers tried to overturn and destroy the very constitutional rights that allowed them to VOTE in the first place. Your "team" still couldn't face the REALITY that the majority of Americans didn't like Trump as POTUS, and passed judgement that he should no longer be in office. You dream that somehow you can "protect" the US constitution by violating and destroying it. Yeah, REALITY CHECK just visited you to upturn and force you to face your belief in LIES, baseless CONSPIRACIES (of your own making). You can keep believing in all your falsehoods, but it will NEVER make them TRUE.

Your mental perspective on how this country functions is a danger to this country and has culminated in the events we've seen yesterday. Fascism, authoritarianism, and the crazy folks willing to attempt to install it by shows of FORCE over their "fellow" Americans are a threat to the very freedoms they proclaim to "uphold and protect". Everything is opposite in that dark twisted world of Trumpublicans. Wrong is right, dark is light, lies are truth...

The US constitution has been protected from your own sick delusions. Believing that only you are right when you're clearly supporting wrong in the eyes of our country and the rest of the world. Why is the CCP and Putin laughing at the US right now? Because of YOU and your ideology plays right into what they want to happen to America. DIVIDING ITSELF because of hypocritical loony toons in the US willing to do such things in the name of their warped beliefs.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

After all this is over I don't think Trump will have one friend, or one country he could travel to. I pity the poor secret service that would have to get paid to guard this guy for the rest of his life. My prediction his wife will leave him, whatever business he and his family have will fail, and he will die living a lonely miserable once privileged life!!

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Trump still could not say, "I concede" or "I lost". I can smell the litigation from here.... and it smells like FIRE. I wonder how the relatives of the people who died engaging in this stupidity are going to handle this. Sue Trump for instigating, or try and sue the federal employees doing their job to protect the elected officials doing their due process.

I love how the GOP members who claimed they were going to "oppose the electoral ballots" doing an abrupt about face saying, "Oh NO! This wasn't supposed to happen!" even though they fully went along with it. But it backfired on them spectacularly.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Guess he finally got scared -- well, he's always been a coward (didn't see him marching alongside the terrorists like he said he would) -- and probably more scared about his Twitter not being reinstated.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

The now deeply rooted tribalism and intolerance of alternative viewpoints at both ends of the US political spectrum will not be easily changed. This is the order lying problem of which Trump was merely a symptom.

This is deeply troubling for the cause of liberal democracy around the world.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Order lying = underlying

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Was Biden actually certified?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

@Patricia Yarrow: so were three other people, but I suppose because they were men, no one cares.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Honest Dictator

great posts! Keep swinging for the fence!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

This is the order lying problem of which Trump was merely a symptom.

Trump was the backlash to Obama, who was the backlash to Bush, who was the backlash to Clinton, etc.

The Biden administration will lurch in the other direction. Each swing of the pendulum seems to go wider to the Left or Right. The next four years are going to be turbulent. Elections have consequences and America will suffer the consequences of their social disunity.

-18 ( +0 / -18 )

The circus leaves town.

Mick Mulvaney is out by his own accord

Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Thursday resigned from his post as the special envoy to Northern Ireland following the riot on the U.S. Capitol.

“I can’t stay here, not after yesterday,” Mulvaney said in an appearance on CNBC. “You can’t look at that yesterday and say I want to be a part of that in any way shape or form.”

Impeach and remove him

he does not deserve the dignity of serving his last 2 weeks

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Slow to react to the virus; slow to react to the siege on the Capitol. Whatever legacy Trump has left, he's burning it going out the door. Fairly or not, the monumental crisis response failures in his last year will be what he'll be most remembered for. Not-yet-Pres. Biden even went on air as the Capitol was besieged before did a sitting president who pledged to protect the US Constitution!

He lost a lot of supporters due to this fiasco. Among many White House aides, the First Lady's chief of staff Grisham couldn't take it anymore - and she was one of the longest-serving aide, having been there since 2015 thru both campaigns and Presidency. VP Pence certified the votes, castigated the rioters, and had to be the one pushing to mobilize the National Guard since Trump was not acting on it

Longtime ally Sen. Graham said enough is enough. Republican Congressmen who would had contested the votes decided not to. Even losing Georgia Sen. Loeffler decided not to contest her slim election loss, after weeks campaigning about rigged election in her state. After what just happened, how would they even bring it up? Heck, Trump didn't do her and her other Georgia Senator any favors in their re-election rallies - talking more about himself and his gripes rather than about the senators and their accomplishments

Unbeknownst to them, Trump has been giving his own supporters the worst type of Christmas gift one could possibly give - and that is False Hope, especially one based on unsupported claims. That's dangerous

Back in July, Trump tweeted:

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1287877621380837378

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Jul 27, 2020

Anarchists, Agitators or Protestors who vandalize or damage our Federal Courthouse in Portland, or any Federal Buildings in any of our Cities or States, will be prosecuted under our recently re-enacted Statues & Monuments Act. MINIMUM TEN YEARS IN PRISON. Don’t do it! @DHSgov

The US Capitol has just been damaged and vandalized. Still support 10-plus year prison prosecutions?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Dial the clock back.

Against all odds Biden won the democrat nomination.

Against all odds Biden won the presidential election.

Against all odds the democrats won the Georgia senate election.

Trump/GOP say all of this was a walk in the park for them, until they stepped on the dog mess.

Trump Talking Heads "Burning Down the House"

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Each swing of the pendulum seems to go wider to the Left or Right.

Go right, wreck the economy, start a war. Go left, fix the economy, fix the war the right started.

Same again 2016-2020, except this time the right decided it was safer to start a war on its own citizens.

Trump is a pathetic but dangerous embarrassment. He really thought he could continue to BS his way through the job of POTUS. Finally (but sadly people had to die), enough people with a conscience agree Trump has gone too far. LOCK HIM AND HIS CRONIES UP.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Trump was the backlash to Obama, who was the backlash to Bush, who was the backlash to Clinton, etc.

Trump is a conman, 6-time bankrupt, 5-time draft dodging, lying, delusional grifter who fomented racial hatred by his Obama birther conspiracy crap. More people voted for Clinton than Trump.

More people voted for Al Gore than Bush 45, so that was not a blacklash.

You really don't know what you're talking about.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

And NOW he says he will 'allow' an orderly transition to the Biden presidency. After that evil treasonous stunt he pulled yesterday, after his insurrection and coup attempt FAILED and we're supposed to believe this perpetually lying Antichrist??? And he's still bellowing out his screed of his 'fight to "MAGA"'.

THAT just says right there that he is NOT giving up, he has NOT accepted the truth or has had any change of heart whatsoever. I don't give a ** what he says!!!! He has shown and demonstrated his unworthiness to govern a trash dumpster. He is not to be trusted and he ought to be arrested today. Period.** No more discussions, no more talk with this juvenile fascist. No more 'cooperation' with him because he has shown to be UNDEPENDABLE. He's a liar, a criminal. He needs to be placed on citizen's arrest now.

He needs to learn his lesson for good that he is NOT above the law! Yesterday is a Day of Infamy. He is a TRAITOR. He is the most hateful and hated person on this planet. He is NO GOOD. No admirable traits or qualities or scruples in Donald Trump. His name shall be reviled and scorned for all of history!

And they garried AK-47s and ARs too. They were fighting,**** it was a melee. The cops had to use tear gas bombs to drive these terrorists out. Make no mistake, this was no protest or demonstration - it was violence, it was an insurrection started up by the motormouth (unprintable 'm'- word) Mussolini. He has encouraging his American Blackshirts to perform a reenactment of the 1922 March on Rome.

January 6, 2021 - one of the ugliest days of US history started up and stirred up by the most violent, hateful, egotistical tyrant excuse of a POTUS ever!

Impeach him again. No pardons. Time to put this dumpster fire of a presidency behind us and rebuild.

ironically, the first day we can truly start working on “making America great” again... is the day he’s out .

We can do it TODAY by invoking the 25th Amendment and arresting him for subversion, terrorism, incitement, abuse of office and treason. There is nothing more to discuss with this megalomaniacal Mussolini. The time for talking has long past. It's as clear as winter ice. Remove him from the WH now!!!

Trump has realized that if the 25 him, it will cement his legacy that he's the worst president beyond any deniable level. Even morons won't be able to deny it.

So he's panicking. But even in his panic the moron isn't able to concede. He's trying to save face in any way he can.

Too late Moron-in-Chief. You're already the worst president ever. And the people hate you. The only people supporting you have the IQ of a swamp dweller and the morals of a junkie.

The congress has adjourned until Biden takes office. Keep in mind that even after all this the vast majority of house Republicans voted to overthrow the electoral college vote. 122 house members + 3 Senators to be specific. But that's not why they adjourned. If congress is not in session then the amount of time the president can force a vote to be reinstated goes from 48 hours to 21 days. They are positioned to 25th Trump if need be.

If George Washington & Abraham Lincoln was alive they would disapprove of the idiot

Unfortunately, modern-day right-wing entitlement born through their feeling of American Exceptionalism, means nearly half of the voters in America support this man that Lincoln and Washington would disapprove of.

Until America deals with this first-world entitlement of American Exceptionalism, they will continue to repeat the same faults over and over. Only, it's not like in the past where they'd still land on top.

American Exceptionalism has led to the beginning of the downfall of America. And yet look how many morons we still have on this site alone still victims to it.
