Thoughts go out to his family,

Young people still have an almost 0 percent chance of dying.

He was just extremely unlucky

That this story makes the news proves the rarity.

I'll start to worry when people dying in their 20's 30's doesn't make the news.

For the past year I have been so happy living in Japan.

Unfortunately the government have blown the vaccine big time,

Summer in the uk will be a lot better than Summer in Japan, even factoring in the weather.

Is that 1000 more people are in the icu than may 2019 or is it that 1000 people are in the icu with coronavirus instead of something else?

This was always how it was going to end,

In the first wave people were scared,

In the second wave their were scared of what their neighbors would think if they ignored government requests

Now, people are neither scared or the virus or worried what their neighbors think because they don't care either

Good to see this mass hysteria is ending

A woman in a baseball uniform on the train to baseball this evening was complaining how crowded the train was.

I really wanted to tell her, no one forced you to go out.

@zichi of course I know that.

I guess you're not familiar with the chant "you just a bunch of cockneys' directed at man u away fans. (Or at least it was in the 1990's ) maybe things are different now,

Anyway I know more about the j-league nowadays that the premier league so maybe I should be ignored.

A load of cockney glory hunters complaining about football losing its soul?

Even before the Glazers United were a corporate entity with prawn sandwich eating fans.

We live in parallel worlds, those consumed by corona and those that worry little or not at all.

As soon as 50.1% don't worry s.o.e's media stories etc will all disappear. My guess is we are around 40% now

Everyday, at the station the local government employees are asking people to be tested, and every day the testing center looks empty.

Why, because if you test postive you have 14 days at a hotel or home and a lot of awkward calls to employerr, customers, family friends to look forward to.

If you're self employed 14 days of no pay too.

Unless your a hypochondriac, the reason for low testing isnt hard to understand.

I have soccer and baseball season tickets and attended over 60 games in the last year.

Not once have a felt both fans and organizers have put fans at risk.

Personally I hope they reorganize the games for August during the Olympics seeing as they aren't going to happen

I am hoping big businesses will ignore these requests.

For example a large department store has share holders, tenants, staff and customers to worry about.

Why would they volunteerly accept 200,000 a day to close?

Especially when even the government admits the risk of infection is minimal.

The first s.o.e was largely successful because almost everyone complied because they were scared.

The second less so because less people complied because less people were scared.

Anyone who thinks the third s.o.e will be anything more than a waste of time and money is a fool.

Calls for a lockdown or stronger s.o.e don't understand that most people don't want strong measures.

I think she is very vulnerable to covid19.

Why? Not one person 20 and under has died from corona.

She has been through enough. There is absolutely no need to push the poor child this far.

How condescending. Have you thought its her dream?

What because she is a young woman she can't think for herself?

@ skipp

Sorry for your illness,

But your argument makes no sense, First you said corona has brought out the worst in people. Then, you say people don't care about themselves so what is it?

Personally, I would rather not catch corona but if I definitely don't want to spend the rest of this year at home. So, if it's corona or staying home I'll take my chances.

Hope you get well soon.

Also, there is an astounding lack of compassion during this entire pandemic, although that hasn't just been Japan. Humanity's showing it's ugliest sides.

What a load of rubbish, people have lot their jobs, not seen family or friends, not been able to go to school ane given up so much in the last year. All to protect the sick and elderly,

Half of the people, the more rational, fearful, quiet etc. lock themselves in. Then you’re outside with your ‘life’, only surrounded by crazy, wild, pandemic denying etc. people, who make parties, crimes, looting, anything, you name it.

It's sad to see this panicademic has affected some peoples mental health.

@shamexpert

1.within two posts you've changed from coronavirus has overrun hospitals to government incompetence may cause hospitals to be overrun.

Suicides are up because people have lost jobs are feel isolated. Both of which are caused by people like you spreading irrational fear.

Everyt we are told if we don't do something there will be thousands dead. Yet everytime we do less and less precautions yet nothing happens

@visusrex

Sorry, what stress on the health system?

75% of hospitals still don't see the need to treat corona. And not one hospital has be overrun.

And, economics and health are related as the rise in suicides shows.

Be happy you have been wrong on this topic from day one and enjoy life

10 cases and schools closed

200 cases and s.o.e

200 cases s.o.e ends

300 cases and schools opened

2000 cases and second s.o.e

2000 cases s.o.e ends

3000 cases quasi s.o.e

So, we have gone from this virus is so deadly all schools have to close over 10 cases and 200 cases everywhere closes.

To 3000 cases and life is normal but don't drink past 8pm.

Seems to me like coronavirus was nothing more than a gross over reaction.

Probably next year will be 10,000 cases and it won't even make the news.
