The only doughnut worthy of the name is the standard glazed yeast doughnut. Nothing goes better with a morning cup of coffee.

Posted in: Man arrested for keeping body of 86-year-old father at home See in context

If the aim is fraud and a continuation of the fathers pension check couldn't that end be met even if the body was buried somewhere? That would seem more respectful to the deceased in my opinion plus I would imagine that a decomposing corpse would add a rather unpleasant aura to a home.

Good think that this dangerous substance was taken off the streets! It's as dangerous as parsley and may have caused someone to experience a feeling of elation, caused some laughter and resulted in an increased appetite.

I can't imagine a delicious dish of subuta without a few chunks of sweet pineapple. If it came from Taiwan I would be just as happy as I would be with domestic fruit.

Sounds edible to me, a bit like French toast for breakfast. I think I would serve it with a few rashers of bacon on the side.

Posted in: Help Japanese farmers reduce food waste with curry paste made from imperfect produce See in context

People are too picky. In my childhood we gardened extensively and quite often had less than perfect fruit and vegetables. The trimmed portions were fed to the chickens or put in the compost heap. If we found a worm in an ear of corn we would cut off the damaged portion and perhaps save the worm for fish bait. My mother was raised during the great depression and her motto was, "Use it up or wear it out."

It mightn't be the healthiest food on the planet but there is no great harm in occasionally eating something just because it tastes good. Probably shouldn't do it daily though.

Nothing was as comforting during the chilly autumns I spent in Japan as a meal of nabiyaki udon accompanied by a tokkuri or two of warmed sake. A true taste treat.

I live in a home with four flatulent cats and I myself pass gas quite frequently. I fail to see how a farting robot would bring any additional joy to my life.

Before this man is condemned in the court of public opinion I would like to pass on a description of what happened to a friend who had a probable petit mal seizure at my dinner table years ago. He was sitting at the table when he suddenly pitched forward and put his face in his plate of food. He then fell from his chair onto the floor. He recovered immediately and is still around 40 years later with no reoccurrence. I hate to think what the outcome could have been if he had been driving at the time.

I took an antibiotic for an infection and broke out in a very itchy rash, my doctor changed the prescription and I was cured. I didn't condemn all antibiotics, individuals react differently to the same things.
