We each of us have an identifying number for work and social welfare that is kept on file but we are in an age where these numbers could be scraped and we all get a new number . Yes I know that would be highly unpopular with everybody but what is the alternative .Pay the ransom or Do we all get a new Russian keyboard.

@ buchailldana

My kids are born in Japan, have an irish passport and a Korean mother.

No Problem , they are Irish

Can they get a Japanese passport?

No, they have no entitlement to a Japanese PP

And do they have to change to a Japanese name?

Whatever "Name" is on their Birth certificate will be the name on their PP

Here's the twist with Dual nationality . When a person reaches a pensionable age and lives outside the Euro Zone countries , which pension are they entitle to ? My ex Japanese wife thinks she is entitled to both as she is a double PP holder.

The British Government don’t owe them a penny. If they don’t like whatever the new arrangements are, they are always free to leave. Although hopefully they’ll see there is more benefit to staying in the UK long term.
