Posted in: Another state of emergency would impact Tokyo Olympics See in context

When it goes ahead, the Olympics will be a symbol of hope for a whole planet.

The Olympic Games have nowhere near the prestige and respect they had 2-3 decades ago.

They used to be held in awe and excitement.

Theyre just another temporary distraction these days.

Biden's first act as president should be to have the lot of them charged with sedition and jailed.

LOL! Good luck with that.

This is amusing. Trump spent 4 years in office studiously avoiding war and winding down US military involvement in already existing wars.

If Joe Robinette Biden actually becomes president THATS when you’ll see war.

Some English people hate him for the Hand of God incident but I blame the keeper

He knowingly broke a cardinal rule of the game and kept silent about it so his team could win. No honour. The rest if his life continued to reveal his charracter - or rather, lack of it.

@Toasted Heretic - I can't comment on the actual film, not having seen it, yet. But if it terrifies and upsets the usual suspects, that's all good.

Its not terrifying or upsetting anyone. The problem is that, reading the article, it really does seem to be another insubstantial Rom Com, over- hyped to try to make it into something it clearly isnt.

he left behind his wife, Gillian, and three children.

"Looking back on my life, everything seems logical and natural," he said, describing himself as happy and lucky.

Quite a charming fellow. Easy to understand he chose Marxism and all the misery for others that went with it. He was that type.

He played in the Dirty Mac - the band John Lennon put together for the Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus. During Yoko Ono’s, er, vocalizing you could see Mr Gitlis bemusedly trying to avoid wincing as he gamely played over her screeching.

Socialism is the "workers" ownership of production. Karl Marx.

Socialism means providing affordable accommodations, healthcare and education and taking care of the elderly, disabled and those less fortunate.

Socialism is people being treated equally.

Sounds great. The only problem is the reality that its been an unmitigated disaster resulting in mass death/murder, misery and draconian government wherever its been tried. Aside from that, Marxism is like, really neat!

Watching it now but this tendency in movies to not identify the cataclysmic event is annoying.

Not unlike Clooney himself. Always the smooth, woke liberal who knows better than the rest of us, but hiding behind vagueness and virtue.
