I wonder why their is never any articles similar to this when the topic of ditch digger or utility pole workers comes up.

I have no issues with equal opportunity but women only push for advantage in CERTAIN fields.

And you also never see any articles on the lack of male teachers or nurses so some reason

Sadly too many owners in Japan dont put enough thought into pets & quick to jump on fads which is just awful.

My best friend of 19years, a dachs, recently passed of very old age, I cant imagine to have thought to just try to get rid of him on some whim, but many do here & many simply dont care properly at all for pets supposedlu under their care!

Ichiro is good stuff, been around for quite some time.

I bought a bottle with furosato nozei about 3yrs ago but to date NOTHING has shown up at my door so a bit ticked at that to say the least!

About 5yrs ago went up to Chichibu to a small onsen place near the distilleries, the bar had about 10 different bottles of Ichiro & the owner & I stayed up to about 3am chatting & sipping, good stuff!

Posted in: Rights groups target sponsors for Beijing Winter Games See in context

Perhaps a number of western countries are considering a boycott of beijing:

Canada's House of Commons on Monday voted 266-0 in a non-binding referendum that China is committing genocide against more than 1 million Uyghurs and called for the IOC to move the Olympics from Beijing. The Dutch parliament passed a similar motion on Thursday saying the treatment amounted to genocide.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said he believes genocide is being committed against the Uyghurs.

Posted in: About 1,000 Olympics volunteers have quit this month: organizers See in context

These volunteers will only be missed if they are needed in a very skilled volunteer position, those that are to work outside venues, near stations etc they will have too many anyway.

Please note their numbers are about 80k.... add in athletes, coaches, venue staff, MEDIA etc etc & its easy to see even if athletes are kept in a bubble, virtually all the rest of the people involved WILL NOT be in any bubble & many WILL be in proximity of athletes\coaches......

This is way beyond absurd, the games need to go & the J-govt needs to beef up vaccinations!

And the SNAKE saikawa is throwing Kelly under the bus.........quote below:

"He(Kelly) is an expert and a professional, and he was coming up with the proposals with an understanding of the overall process. If he was saying it, there could be no mistake," Saikawa told the court.

This was I think the ONLY part of trump I agreed with, get tougher with China.

As I have been saying for decades, the world MUST stop feeding the monster that is China(the govt not its people)!!

The longer we wait the higher the ultimate price that will need to be paid.

Posted in: How to turn your leftover instant ramen broth into 'chawanmushi' egg custard See in context

Just because you can doesnt mean you should!

I am fine with the odd instant ramen but 2 things, DONT make them a staple in your diet & DONT quaff all the broth, way way way too much salt in that stuff, not good for you. Toss most of it after the noodles etc are done.

By all means enjoy once in a while , I do, but dont make it a habit to quaff the broth!!

Wow......repubs for the most part are something else.

Going forward I think this will become one of two things:

Hilariously stupid

or

Downright frightening!!!

Hope for the former, but may very well be the latter, the EXCITED States of America is in a real bad place, fingers crossed they come out of lunacy that we have witnessed since trump came on the scene!

The only way for the Repubs to survive now is to CONVICT him bigtime in the current impeachment trial, if that doesnt happen as likely it wont, then it has to dissolve, its just too looney tunes right now, too much POISON in the ranks that needs to be purged!!!

Posted in: EU approves first shipment of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to Japan See in context

One aspect we dont really hear enough about is if Japan can even HANDLE a shipment of vaccines.

I dont think they have enough cold storage set up around the country with enough space to accommodate any decent sized shipments so if it were shipped in quantity can Japan even store the ones that need -70C

My gut says they cant & THAT is a big reason why they are saying shots for the masses starting by June .......maybe

One thing we know for sure & that is the govt is keeping this all clear as mud as usual, they just continue to treat their masses with contempt as they have always done!

If this article doesnt illustrate a TON about what is so so so wrong with Japan & how it is """"run""" ........then I dont know where to point you to show how clearly messed up Japan is that articles like this make the light of day!!!!

That said I am NOT surprised at all, the rot sadly looks to continue here for a long long time yet!

Posted in: Tokyo Olympics face another headache - not enough medical staff See in context

This should be one of the BIGGEST nails in the games coffin!!

Japans health care has been under stress in a lot of ways......WAY before covid, I have been reading stories about taxi\ambulances that ferry patients to as many as 10+ hospitals before finding a bed!!

And just recently I saw on TV about 2 people with heart attacks DIEING in vehicles while being turned away.....

Can you imagine the deaths caused by these games syphoning medical staff this summer only for said staff to return to a country likely much worse medically because of these games!!

Utter non-sense!

"No matter how I look at it, it's impossible," said Satoru Arai, whose association was asked by both the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee and the Tokyo metropolitan government last March to secure more than 3,500 medical staff for the event.

THREE CHEERS for Arai san for telling it like it IS!!!

Expect the IOC now to push Japan to allow not just team doctors to come but mini hospital staff for each team!!!
