Posted in: Ford CEO: Electric vehicle demand will transform industry See in context

Nope.

He said it has a range of 300 miles (on a NEW battery unit), but that is the estimated range based on a set of preconditions which include limited auxiliaries such as heat/aircon (off) and minimal electrical systems (headlights, audio/navi, etc) and of course nothing being towed.

Whereas with a diesel-powered model all those limitations are eliminated and "recharging" the fuel tank takes all of 5 minutes and doesn't reduce the "charge capacity" as the quick-charge reduce the service life of EVs considerably. It's a matter of physics and chemistry, neither of which can be altered by political wishful thinking.

It's not surprising that her ordeal traumatized her. However, concealing the identity of the attacker has allowed him(or her?) to go on with impunity, much like Harvey Weinstein. The rapist has likely done the same thing to others as well.

Best wishes to her.

The reality is that 40%~60% of people infected with the virus are either asymptomatic or very mildly symptomatic (like this person) and naturally overcome it. FYI, George Floyd also tested positive yet it didn't seem to be an issue for him although he had serious heart disease.

As far as who wants the Olympics canceled, the sampling of the people polled is quite small and unlikely actually represents the populace fairly.

I personally don't care about the Olympics either way.

How about effective enforcement of existing laws against any such acts of violence against anyone regardless of race/gender/age? Since at least last summer, there has been a rise in violent attacks in certain areas where the law enforcement has been pressured to be passive for political reasons.

Jsapac, just take a few minutes to look at the numerous videos of the attacks which have largely occurred in such wonderful places as NYC, DC, SF, LA, etc.

Just search for : "Attack on Asian " on EweToob.

Here's just ONE of those from NYC :

It's like trying to hold back the tide. The reality is still that well over 95% of the infected will make a full recovery unlike many other pandemics that actually decimated the human population numerous times in the past.

Posted in: Nissan to sell entire Daimler stake for $1.4 billion See in context

Ghosn's leadership rescued Nissan from certain demise. Nissan's vehicles (except for the GTR, Z) were quite pathetic at best. Then there was a massive transition and some rather good models were produced. Even now, many of the models are still quite good, but in the future I'm not likely to buy another one. For me, it'll be a diesel powered vehicle by one of the European makers most likely.

Selling their share of Daimler is just to shuffle the debt.

Jimizo, the problem with your argument is that the research you've based your position on is primarily centered on indoor-dispersion of aerosol virus. However, indoor propogation is indeed the main avenue for transmission of viruses, whereas outdoor propogation is a very different case.

Remember the "3 C's"?

So, what does the actual science (not politicised wokism) say regarding the wearing of masks OUTDOORS? What actual unbiased research has been conducted? I venture that few if any studies that may have been properly conducted would ever become "peer-reviewed" due to the societal pressures.

To actually find such data would require limiting the search to prior to 2019. And what did both the US CDC and WHO say about the ubiquitous wearing of masks back then before the propagandising of the issue? Rather than pithy down votes, how about some actual credible data to possibly sway my opinion?

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

Posted in: Man arrested for punching passerby who asked him to wear mask See in context

The "science" doesn't support the wearing of masks whilst outdoors.

Punching someone is considered assault, but verbally assaulting another is rather unwise.
