Too late! Should have done this earlier!!!

3.5m and 13kg seems quite big! Some dickhead was keeping it in a cage as a pet is simply beyond belief! Snakes don’t belong in cages as they are not pets! They need their freedom. This escaped python is capable of killing someone!

Just when you think you’ve seen it all…lol !

The only reason the reported numbers are dropping is because the number of testing is significantly down, likely due to orders from the government.
Expect outright testing ban before the Olympics as Japan government is going to declare total victory over covid and call themselves the best of the best.
@blahblah222… you’ve nailed it! A really sensible comment based on reality!

Shouldn’t the diagrams on the sign show a big red line across those? The way it is shown it implies to do those three things rather than not to do it! Only having the word “No” on top one time isn’t effective!
Also, I’ve said this before but they really need ti close Universities as young people are super spreaders as most are asymptomatic! Major cities in Japan will never be able to contain this outbreak because the biggest culprit are crowded trains where people stand within millimeters of each other! The authorities seem to be targeting only areas like restaurants which contribute around 20% towards the infection yet trains / train stations which contribute 60+ % don’t have a single effective strategy against corona!

Only idiots believe the words coming out of the mouth of these corrupt IOC executives! People are suffering medically, mentally and financially during this pandemic and these IOC dickheads are just sweet talking the Japans officials because they want the Olympics to go ahead at any cost since it will help them line up their own pockets!

State of emergencies in Japan are a joke! Apart from the restaurants closing at 8pm not much else happens. This time the bigger shopping malls were closed as well as alcohol ban in restaurants but this was more or else because of the extended national holidays called the Golden week ( the Government won’t have done this during usual work days ). So don’t expect much during the extended SOE and due to this the Olympic won’t be affected much! People are suffering from lack of income and instead of aiding its citizens by providing some financial stimulus the Government has wasted billions of yen on the Olympic!

I bet if the "hero" had been a foreigner he'd get charged with assault.
@Burning Bush… Got to agree with you on this one!
Anyways, all this for a can of drink…imagine if the shoplifter has a concealed weapon!

Tokyo Olympic’s already a farce!

Clearly the pervert could be identified by the security cameras outside the toilet area but seems like a cover up as other commenters have mentioned!

Trains were super crowded in Tokyo last night and today as well...people still in business suits going to the office was a head scratcher as today is a national holiday!

Even the third floor isn’t safe anymore...

As others mentioned above, New Zealand with close to zero infections and Japan with thousands are on the same travel advisory level...smh!
0 ( +2 / -2 )
Yeah close all malls and restaurants while allowing people to take super crowded trains like sardines! Japan will never be able to effectively bring the infection rate under control because of all these half hearted approaches!
7 ( +7 / -0 )
Getting out of hand again! Now the authorities are back discussing the only strategy that seems to work in Japan...let’s do less testing!

U S and Japan should not be so naive to think that China is the cause of their troubles. We need to fix things at home.
Exactly... it seems that by blaming China for everything the US and Japanese Government is just diverting blame for their own failure. Moreover it’s just idiotic that bulk of the people in the US and Japan fall for this!
-23 ( +4 / -27 )
Easier said than done! Even the very phone or PC you used for writing your comment has components made in China! People trash China daily but the bottom line is that without China the world won’t be able to function as prices would soar and the people won’t be able to afford stuff! There are more than 7 billion people globally and if China products are boycotted/ banned then millions if not billions of people would just die by not being able to afford basic essentials! We should appreciate China for giving us cheaper products ( quality doesn’t matter for people living in poverty )! If it wasn’t for them then everyone would be paying crazy premium prices that we have in Japan for many locally made products. Developing countries won’t have been able to import these products at those prices and their citizens would have suffered!

This is just wrong on so many levels!

Since the Tokyo Olympic committee, IOC and the Japanese Government are adamant to have it then the only safe option is to invite only the athletes and downsize it on a massive scale. No overseas volunteers and limit the team officials and executives as well ( 90 % of them don’t do much either way and are just there wasting the tax payers money )! Get local interpreters as I’m sure Japan already has enough foreigners here from every country participating in the Olympic Games ( Use the foreign nationals living in Japan instead of bringing in overseas volunteers). Vigilance will be required with testing upon arrival and isolation at designated centers and hotels. Follow the same strategy that the Australian open organizers did this year. They could even escort teams to the Olympic village and cordon off that zone so that they cannot leave that area. Don’t allow them to go to local areas since it’s not a sightseeing trip as we are still in a pandemic. It sounds harsh but the athletes are coming here to compete and not for sightseeing and mingling with locals ( sacrifices needed on both ends ). Even though the number of infections are hitting peak during the “4th wave” in Japan right now, one thing is for sure that the Japanese public will blame the foreigners who come for the Olympic Games for the infection rate spike during the games!

Hanyu looks off his game as of late. Looks really nervous about taking risks and keeps it simple! Even Jason Brown looked more adventurous than him and executed his jumps perfectly! Nathan Chen seems to be on fire and unbeatable! The crowd seemed disappointed that Hanyu didn’t win and didn’t show the appreciation that Nathan Chen deserved on this occasion...poor spectators as I expected better from the Japanese! This used to be a sport of supporting fantastic performance rather than home country favorites! In this event Chen and Hanyu were miles apart as far as performance is concerned but yet the scores seemed rather too close...lol ! Hanyu certainly has the ability to do much better and win easily if he puts in more passion and more extraordinary jumps as he used to do so in the past!

Nothing new as many countries have been using this type of automated tech at airports. Japan is super late to the party. Similar tech was implemented in some Australian airports 5 years ago. Makes the movement / flow faster and smoother!
People talking about privacy regarding this yet these same people have no issues posting their photos all over social media sites willingly! What a crazy world we live in!

Imagine if it was China or South Korea doing this! The Japanese Government and other countries for that matter would have been up in arms opposing it. But because it’s Japan they seem to be getting a free pass especially from the US!

If only Princess Mako would wake up and realize that she has responsibilities as a member of the imperial family before pursuing her personal happiness.
Comments like these is the reason that people in Japan are so unhappy in life and the rate of depression as well as suicide is extremely high! People like you will never find happiness and love!

Fault of the Osaka prosecutors who released him despite him being a menace to society. Lock him up already or the next time we’ll hear that this same man has killed someone!

This is the fault of the Government! The State of emergency in Japan a few weeks ago was pathetic and now the words state of emergency or quasi emergency mean nothing to the public. The only thing that happens under the SOE in Japan is bars and restaurants closing at 8pm! The words state of emergency has lost its essential in Japan because of the actions from the Government! People becoming complacent because of the lack of seriousness from the authorities ( Government officials ) who are just making crappy strategies to combat corona virus!

What is actually being done at street level ?
ok. Watered down gels and liquids everywhere. Useless cheap temp guns which never seem to turn red for anyone. Self awarded and printed stickers even at the most dirty and ugly restaurants.
the only measure that works is the masks, but government has little to do with that. Strange how I can see none of the Abe masks anywhere anymore. Wasn’t there an investigation into that ?
You’ve nailed it! Well said mate!

I just wish that this Olympics will come and go quickly so that people can just move on with life! It’s just causing stress and concern on a daily basis.

@Fighto...Excellent comment mate! The photo sums up the situation in Tokyo where infection rates are bound to rise in the next few days!
But I’m not gonna sit a home and live in fear.
People like you need to realize that sacrificing social life for a few months is ideal in eliminating this outbreak from the local communities. New Zealand and Australia had proper lockdowns and people sacrificed a lot by staying indoors and they successfully eliminated or contained the outbreak! Now the people there can go back to normalcy. But in the US, Japan and some EU countries because there was half hearted lockdowns which began way too late it was never going to be brought under control! Then add attitudes of people like you and corona virus will never be brought under control. The arrogance and selfishness of a few doom the entire country!
State of emergency in Japan is a farce! Nobody takes it seriously anymore and nothing changes expect bar / restaurant operating hours. Also there is little to none financial support from the Government ( it’s their responsibility to assist their citizens after declaring SOE )! The whole system is a mess!
