They definitely don't know their priorities! Gaman - patience. . . How much longer? Those folks are asking for way too much!

Posted in: Tokyo reports 969 new coronavirus cases; record high 529 in Hokkaido See in context

Again a higher number compared with last week Wednesday for Tokyo (621 then, 925 two weeks ago)!

Record high for Hokkaido, Kagawa doesn't look good either, many other prefectures the same.

Get going with the inoculation, but not at the present snail pace!

Once again, I believe it when I see it.

Just sounds like more PR at this time.

Posted in: Japan prepares to inoculate adolescents aged 12-15 against COVID See in context

More talks, more considering, more meetings .... but definitely not more inoculations!

Waiting and hesitating until it's too late. They can't even get those under 65 vaccinated, now they are talking about children. Besides, even those over 65 experience lots of problems, long waiting (telephone) lines, being asked to call again the next day, not being able to get connected since there are not enough phone operators, and so on. This whole affair stinks!!!

Highest numbers (Tuesday) for the past 3 weeks.

Guess yesterday's count wasn't quite "accurate"?

Though Australia has largely eradicated the virus with border closures .....

So, it seems to be a cure or something that works.

"And now, the end is near...." would love to hear this song used as the LDP song in the future.

Edano got it right and I hope that many Japanese voters will remember his remarks during the next election!

573? Who played or manipulated the coronavirus calculator.

Ehime saw an increase again, so did other prefectures.

Guess those counts will be adjusted every day until it's time for those darned games.

The man (Mr. Suga{r}) quite obviously suffers from the Japanese disease when something goes wrong:

"I've never", next will be "I don't remember", taking that obligatory bow and that will be it.

Man up, cancel those darned games, get your priorities right!

Instead of meetings, considering, thinking and planning ....

.... how about acting! 2.?% inoculations so far just ain't enough!

Oh, and please remember this comment by Mr. Sugar:

"Suga said he expects some municipalities to begin vaccinating people with underlying conditions such as diabetes next month."

Expects, underlying conditions, next month (another roughly 3 weeks from now!).

Remember Supertramp's song DREAMER?

Should be his (Suga's) next election campaign background music!

Posted in: Suga says Japan aiming for 1 mil COVID-19 vaccine shots daily See in context

"At that pace, it would take about seven months for every person ....."

Well, guess I said it before, some time next year, maybe, for me!

But I strongly assume it's the "as-always-business" ..... words, words, words and nothing but words.

Concerning those numbers (actually cases) let's wait until mid or end of next week.

I strongly assume (but don't ask for it) the numbers will go up again.

In reference to last year's count same day:

Tokyo 4.748

Osaka 1.698

Kanagawa 1.128 but

Kagawa 28 (today 50!)

Posted in: Tokyo governor says mutant strains of COVID-19 becoming dominant See in context

"Just" 591 new cases ,,,,, of course "Golden Week Count".

Besides, the number of seriously ill patients is the highest since end of February.

Nothing to be proud of. When oh when will they finally start with mass-inoculations and cancelling those darned (Olympic) games?

Posted in: Gov't to decide on extension of state of emergency on Friday See in context

"The emergency declaration's impact had started to show as the number of people moving around has undoubtedly decreased," he added.

Oh yes, sure! Then why did I see quite a few (???) cars from prefectures far away in our area? Also watching the news - traffic jams on the highways first leaving the Tokyo area, days later the same returning to the greater Tokyo area. Of course they will meet again, those government and other experts, consult, think and continue like this for some time. Maybe they should extend their meetings until 17 or 18 May, this way the incubation time can also be included.
