which was a continuation of what he had done for the 70+ years before that. And still his anti-American followers

Sorry, no one here is anti-American, the people that are anti-American are the ones that are trying to stop all forms of freedom of speech and are promoting and continuation of this cancerous cancel culture

Just my take but this is exhibit A of What ails America.

both sides are “patriotic.”

...and have totally different definitions of what America actually is.

As one who spent 22 years as a registered republican (now independent) I want to say something to the National Populists calling themselves republicans at CPAC: those you call RINO’s are republicans. You are the RINO’s. Have the decency to call yourselves what you clearly are: nationalist populists. NPP, it’s not a smear, it’s what you clearly are. If you wanna add a “C” and make it “National Christian Populist Party,” that’s cool too. It’s honest, says who you are and what you’re about.

To hear Donald Trump call Mitch McConnell a RINO is comical. That y’all eat it up is nauseating.

People still can't get over him.

This only one month after he’s gone. Hillary and Obama would be very amused.

Would also add that he and his followers in the National Populist Party are in the process of an attempted extermination of what was once known as the GOP. Would be folly to believe his malevolent influence is a thing of the past.

While I applaud her desire to achieve legitimacy through bi-partisanship the National Populist Party is not operating in good faith and the few remaining republicans are now largely shunned.

Posted in: Proud Boys suspect's lawyers blame Trump for Capitol attack See in context

imagine storming the United States Capitol with sticks and flags and bear spray, arrayed against armed and highly trained law enforcement. Only someone who thought they had an official endorsement would even attempt such a thing.

Agree with his lawyers, surprised so few comments, some heavy stuff here.

the Proud Boys watched as their “pro-America, pro capitalism and pro-Trump” rhetorical strategy allowed them into the Republican mainstream. They watched as law enforcement attacked Black Lives Matter and anti-fascism protestors, but escorted Proud Boys and their allies to safety. They watched as their leader, Enrique Tarrio, was named Florida state director of Latinos for Trump,

Sorry, I’m gonna all caps/bold print this sentence for all y’all who keep saying “what about the BLM riots?”

THEY WATCHED AS LAW ENFORCEMENT ATTACKED BLM and ANTIFA, BUT ESCORTED PB’s and their ALLIES to SAFETY.

y’all wanna understand what the riots were about? Read the flashing bold print neon letters between those lines.

The defense also argued that the Trump campaign was well aware of the organized participation of Proud Boys rallies merging into Trump events. When then-President Trump was given an opportunity to disavow them during a presidential debate, Trump instead told them to “stand back and stand by" — something they understood as "a call to arms and preparedness."

Yeah, only someone as honest as say, Cancun Ted or Josh “freedom of thought ruined everything” Hawley would give Trump a pass on this.

i actually feel sorry for a lot of these guys. They blew their lives up in defense of a filthy stinking lie.

nomination,

Still can't find the link though of Trump being best friends with a KKK leader though. Oh wait, it was that other guy.

This ain’t the first time you’ve tried to pull this line.

Here ya go, about the “other guy.”

NAACP Praises Byrd

In the end, the political legacy of Robert Byrd went from admitting his former membership in the Ku Klux Klan to winning the accolades of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The group rated the senator's voting record as being 100% in line with their positions during the 203-2004 congressional session.

In June 2005, Byrd sponsored a bill allocating an additional $10 million in federal funds for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C.

When Byrd died at age 92 on June 28, 2010, the NAACP released a statement saying that over the course of his life he “became a champion for civil rights and liberties” and “came to consistently support the NAACP civil rights agenda.”

if the tactical vest boys had been NFAC instead of PB’s and 3%ers the only ones still alive would be the ones in jail.

you know that as well as we do

I haven’t thoroughly read all posts after this one. Sorry if repeating someone else’s argument...

Attila,

Well, this WAS a mostly peaceful protest. Only a small handful of agitators behaved violently, and many of them were probably agent provocateur types snuck in by Antifa.

Nope. Might have been a nice argument if the, to borrow BobFosse’s term, MENSA guys storming the Capital hadn’t already given the game away...

Members of the far-right group the Proud Boys will attend Washington, D.C., rallies forPresident Trump on Jan. 6 "incognito," with leaders of the group saying they will dress in "all BLACK" to mimic the attire of anti-fascist groups and counterprotesters. The group is known for its signature black and yellow clothing during rallies and protests, where they typically appear in large groups. The group's chairman, Enrique Tarrio, announced on social media that group members "might dress in all BLACK for the occasion."

Additionally, members of the group will likely branch off into smaller formations to remain "incognito."

Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Thursday resigned from his post as the special envoy to Northern Ireland following the riot on the U.S. Capitol.

“I can’t stay here, not after yesterday,” Mulvaney said in an appearance on CNBC. “You can’t look at that yesterday and say I want to be a part of that in any way shape or form.”

Agree that with 2 whole weeks left, Trump should not receive the dignity of being permitted to complete his term. 25th is fastest but hey, a one day impeachment followed by next day conviction/removal would work too.

and it would look so good on the records of Cruz and Hawley to have their names associated with this act for the history books

Just a shout out to Scumbag Cruz and the two AZ civilians posing as Representatives.

Paul Gossar and Andy Biggs, your scumbag a$$€z were “elected” on the same ballots you and scumbag Ted are trying to invalidate. Get your civilian backsides off the floor during official business. In fact, I believe there is a DC wide curfew in place so go home or face arrest, seditionist filth.

scumbag Ted, you and Hawley own this almost as much as Trump. You gave this BS legitimacy

Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf said Brewster is the rightful winner and called the Senate Republicans' move “a shameful power grab that disgraces the institution.”

Appreciate the Governor’s attempt to be diplomatic.

“Shameful” assumes the ability to feel shame. The more appropriate adjective is “shameless.”

Quote on the same subject copied from The Hill

Brittany Crampsie, a spokeswoman for the Senate Democratic Leader of Pennsylvania, said there were clear parallels between Republicans’ response to unsuccessful elections in both the Keystone State and at the federal level.

“The obvious link is the pattern of behavior from Republicans,” she told The Hill. “They just refuse to acknowledge the will of voters. They don't respect the integrity of our elections. And when they lose at the ballot box and in the courtroom, they're going to take over by whatever means they believe that they have.”

Pretty much sums it up
