It seems to me foreign embassy officials from poor countries would be vaccinated in Japan.

Posted in: Japan disposes of over 7,000 mishandled doses of COVID vaccine: report See in context

Pfizer vaccine is very very difficult about dilution and temperature (with special freezers). Moderna and AstraZ are a little easier to handle. Many countries would mishandle some Pfizer vaccines sometimes. In some countries they made a little mistakes of dilution and temperature, but they may not dump them but syringe people because vaccine is very important to survive.

AstraZ is in case. If Moderna and Pfizer are all gone, then they use AstraZ. Japan is now producing AstraZ vaccines in Japan. Some of them have gone to Taiwan the other day.

Posted in: Japan considers sending coronavirus vaccines to Vietnam: report See in context

Japan secured too enough vaccine doses. If it keeps them all, it is going to dump/waste most of them later. It seems Japan is storing vaccines as political tool from the beginning. It now secured 400 million doses. It now started to send them to favorable countries need vaccines.

Posted in: Japan considers sending coronavirus vaccines to Vietnam: report See in context

Japan is very slow about inoculation for people, no shortage of vaccines but shortage of medical staffs (injectors), so just wait for your turn. Vaccines can't be kept for for a long time. Expiration is coming soon or later. It seems to me Japan sends extra vaccines where countries badly need now before wasting them later.

Pfizer vaccine doses are most wasted sometimes. Pfizer is very difficult about temperature and dilution. It seems to me other countries also make mistakes sometimes about Pfizer. If they said no mistakes at all, then they shut up their mouths about mistakes.

It seems to me Putin will never return such islands to Japan whatever. Japan better not listen to Putin about such peace treaty. Whenever Putin speaks about peace treaty, he wants investment money only from Japan. No islands back.

The supersonic jet reminds me of concord decades ago. I wonder business people really need such supersonic to travel in age of computer? We can see talk each other through computer. Concorde was probably needed because no remote meeting of computer at that time.

It seems to me low income is one child at most or none in Japan or not married. Low birth rate make sense. Other developed countries seem same.

alpha, beta, kappa, delta whatever are too gibberish for me to understand new variants. Why WHO makes things more nonsense/difficult?

Posted in: Japan donates more than 1 million AstraZeneca doses to Taiwan See in context

Japan already secured 400 million doses for its own people. 1.26 million doses of AstraZ made in Japan were send to Taiwan because Taiwan helped Japan a lot in the past. No doubt Taiwanese people are very happy about it.

I am somehow surprised that there is no Japanese Coast Guard ship around in this area.

J Coast Guard Ships are patrolling around there regularly, but not many. Most of ships have gone to East China Sea.

The question that remains unanswered is where were they when they got stopped.

Russian border authorities said warning shots were fired to stop the boat as it was attempting to escape from one of its patrol vessels

Any national boats and vessels can go/sail into Japan and Russian EEZ back and forth freely but can't fish in other country's EEZ. I just wonder if Russian patrol saw J fishermen catching sea lives in Russian EEZ or not. This is a big question.

No way to know from the article what really happened ...

Japanese fisherman boat's GPS data and Russian patrol boat's GPS data should officially show for each other. Both governments should work on that. Otherwise no way to be solved.

I heard most gold, silver, bronze medals are made from all kinds of dumped/wasted computers and household appliances and podiums are made from marine plastic waste. It sounds like "Eco-friendly".

So provide a longitude and latitude position so we all can see it

I hope all GPS data is not deleted before returning boat and fishermen.

Posted in: More than 10 million in Japan have received COVID-19 vaccinations so far See in context

I don't think we'll have enough people vaccinated by then

I think 30-40 million at most by Olympics. Rest would be vaccinated by fall. They get vaccinated in big hurry all over the places such big centers, hospitals, clinics, and they start it at companies from end of June.

Posted in: More than 10 million in Japan have received COVID-19 vaccinations so far See in context

Japan is slow about inoculations but it secured 400 million doses. It seems most people would get vaccinated sooner or later by summer or fall. The most important thing is to keep lowering cases and mortality even they were vaccinated.

It seems to me Tokyo Olympics will be held whatever happens even if China invaded the Senkaku Islands and battle started. Japan is deeply obsessed by Olympics.

They would get heatstroke if they walked around hours outside. They might be taken in ICU beside corona patients. If they were vaccinated, not much worry about coronavirus.

Communist government will demand 3 children policy to all married people just like decades' one child policy sooner or later.

Posted in: China easing birth limits further to cope with aging society See in context

China had one child policy for 3 decades. Two children have been acceptable since 2016 but most people don't want 2 children because they need more money to raise children. And now three children become acceptable but it seems impossible for most people without some kind of government help (money). Low income is one child at most or none ever.

It is understandable that Osaka pulls out because she has depression so can't play any more there. This is her choice on she stays in French Open or not. No one can't complain about it.

Press conference seems not necessary every time. Game has to have nothing to do with press. It is up to player. I wonder why press has be held every time? She is not a politician, a just private player.

Posted in: Japan approves Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12- to 15-year-olds See in context

I am confused. I don't see hardly any 12-15 year old infected and/or in the hospital? Am I missing something?

I heard lately some under 15 years old are infected badly by new variant and hospitalized, so in near future more teenagers may be infected and hospitalized in ICU. It seems to me Japan took one step ahead in case.

Posted in: Japan may provide AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine to Taiwan See in context

Taiwan have been using AstraZ for people from the beginning. New variant is lately spreading all over Taiwan but it can't get them any more by sabotage of China. Taiwan desperately needs more vaccines. There are/will be a lot of AstraZ storing in Japan and it is not going to use them now, so Japan gives them to Taiwan.

With less than 9% of Japan vaccinated so far

Japan has no shortage of vaccines any more but real shortage of vaccine injectors. That's why Japan is slow vaccination, probably for a little while.
