Good on the mother for not taking this crap from the old bag.

I think arresting the old lady is pretty severe.

She would have been taken in for questioning, nothing severe about that.

Current main headline:

'Unused COVID shots piling up in Japan amid slow rollout'.

It seems that Mr. Okabe is either misinformed, or talking complete wham.

If memory serves correct this " quote " by Okabe san is about 2 weeks old. At that time lying Suga,s official line was still " EU is not delivering supplies to Japan "

Well, that's because nobody is wearing their super effective and superior Abenomasks..if they were Japan would have no corona emergency. It is clear that citizens are at fault here for not not using Shinzo,s miracle handkerchief. Blaming the LDP govt is clearly misguided.

Taro Kono is an incompetent disgrace.

Kono was set up as the fall guy in this job by Suga because the sleepy combover knew full well the rollout would prove to be a red tape disaster and wanted Kono to take the blame and hence eliminate his potential PM rival. No matter whom would be handed the portfolio they would get the blame ..but Suga is the commander in chief here ( in theory ) so the decision making buck stops with him. Alas he is an incompetent, indecisive apparatchik who would have been fired long ago if he was a CEO at a global company. An absolute disgrace.

Just another example of how utterly incompetent Suga and LDP is. They can't do a single thing right and yet they want us to believe they can administer 1 million shots per day and deliver safe Olympics. Now they can blame " gaikoku" supply problem anyomore , who will they try to blame for slow rollout...the citizens once again ? . If you can't lead Suga, step down and make way for someone who can, pathetic excuse for a PM. Completely agree with robert maes, this govt ( and Abe,s before that ) deserve to be sued for dereliction of duty.

You must be mistaken, havent you seen all those awesome, shiny fax machines proudly occupying space in J- offices in 2020. Suga is a visionary, lol.

Short and powerful, LOL....yep, closing restaurants at 8pm is the mother of all powerful anti corona steps. Suga, Nishimura and the rest of the incompetents that are pretending to be in charge of " something" here should do J-taxpayer a big favor and resign en masse.

Please don't make us laugh so hard...the stomach hurts..Japan,s " short and powerful" emergency entails closing restaurants at 8pm instead of 9 or 10 and asking citizens to " co- operate" in order to put the blame on the average Keiko & Taro when govt measures prove hopeless as they have time and time again. Thats it. Nobody believes a word that comes out of Suga govt mouth anymore.

Now is the wrong time for this event. I never understood why it was not delayed until 2024.

Because then PM Abe was hoping that he would be able to successfully host the games, take the glory and use it to win the general election that must be held by October 2021 ( couple of months after games finish ). That's why it was not postponed until 2022 ( which was the other option they considered ) since that would mean the media focus prior to election might not be on the games but on Abe,s many scandals. There is nothing better to divert J- media and public's attention away from political scandals than the Olympic circus.

I hear many politicians are taking time off to enjoy themselves at izaka, yakiniku restaurants, and hostess clubs rather than plan ahead and focus on their constituents, so it should be possible to swap them out for some that want to do their jobs properly and responsibly.I think 500 or so should be possible, but a goal of 10,000 is best.

Love it, great post :)

out of how many nurses in Japan? It seems that the vast majority of nurses are ok with it.

Really? Are you a member of the nurses union and did you run a survey to know that majority of nurses are OK with it? Btw, whats with another new name?...if one speaks true wisdom no need to keep changing handles, is there ?
