It has been hard on her. You can see it in her face in the car window.

Do we need masks outdoors?

We are allowed to use common sense. Most of us are adult enough to look at the situation and make the right choice, I would like to think. Carry a (double) mask and wear it with kindness.

The only problem is the occasional individual or group with some kind of agenda that runs counter to the scientific community's understanding of virus communicability.

Wow, some strong language in there, but hey, Miami yes, why not!

Honda will be wondering if they did the right thing in retreating from F1 at the pinnacle of their push, even as they stay locked into Indy racing.

And Sir Lewis Hamilton, the Black Knight, would be an extra draw to pull in the crowds. Big bucks to be made for some people, and a different track has to be interesting.

Russia does not like being found out and exposed. It's the elaborate denials, explanations and double-speak that follow that prove tiresome and wearying. The Czech diplomats probably already had their bags packed, knowing there would be tit-for-tat retaliation.

What an excellent race, from the standpoint of the spectators anyway! Another classic race, with something for almost everyone.

*Some of those penalties given though, might indeed be mandatory as the stewards later explained, but they are heavy, and for a driver, understanding the intricate wording of rule book within a split second must take a special kind of lawyer's mind. Especially when you check with the pit crew who contact the race director for clarity!

That is the quality of monitored filtered and diluted water that he is being asked to drink, before being poured into the Pacific. (Not directly out of any tank.)

There are actually two cauldrons planned, one inside the venue for opening and closing ceremonies and one more widely visible at the waterfront. I think the question may end up being, "Which two people?" Perhaps the waterfront flame will be lit by a paralympian?

Russia has kept silent through all of this. The safer option. They obviously do not want to be called hypocrites or to be asked about those submarine nuclear reactors that they dumped in the Arctic and the Japan Sea. (Open knowledge)

Tone deaf perhaps, but while we are all criticizing such insensitivity, the expression 'tone-deaf' itself is nowadays considered 'ableist' by some, i.e. to be insensitive, apparently.

13th fairy here, a bit late to the party, but for the women involved it must be creepy and scary that he was able to get close enough to her to smell her, to chose her particular shoes, and get her details. All in complete silence. Some kind of stalking involved. (Not just anyone's shoes off the net or from a recycle shop.)

"What else does this guy know about me, what else is he capable of, and how can that be prevented?"... must be the questions running through these ladies' minds.

On the face of it, the guy got his kicks, and with luck will move on, to add to his collection. If nothing happens to the women, then great, but in their minds, this could be another case of "I asked you for help and you did nothing!"

Zaphod: "they want to hide behind NATO and get EU membership, while instigating this war."

NATO would not be willing to give them membership until the situation has stabilized. It is in Ukraine's interest to look and act peaceful. Instigating anything would conversely cause NATO to back off.

The article says "carpenters' glue for bonding pieces of wood". (?) @2:40 am. That would set hard pretty quickly. (It's not bird lime or gokiburi hoy hoy or anything.)

As I said above, this is just a puzzle. It does not make sense. Thank goodness. If they had had any harmful or malicious intent, they would have used something more dangerous. Not meaning to make any excuses for them, but it just sounds stupid, immature and random. I know how my parents would have dealt with me, and it would have been painful. Community service might well help give them some maturity.

It does not say whether it was quick-drying or slow-drying, and what the purpose would be, since either way the glue would have dried before any kids came out to play. To make a slide less slippery? Vandalism at best.

For an idea of the scale of the Russian army involvement in eastern Ukraine, seen from the Ukraine side, look at these figures. Over 2,000 armored vehicles and 35,000 troops. (This does not include forces assembling in Crimea and elsewhere along Ukraine's borders.)

There is an old Chinese proverb that says if you do not want people to think you are a thief, don't adjust your hat in a pear orchard, and don't tie your shoelaces in a strawberry field. If you do, you are either stupid, or asking for trouble.

Posted in: U.S. increasingly concerned over Russian troop build up at Ukraine border See in context

Ukraine has nothing to gain by initiating anything around there, except stability of the borders and the status quo.

Russia and the separatists have everything to gain by taking over a large chunk of eastern Ukraine, with a land bridge to Crimea, even if they say the troops massed there are only for 'exercises'. LOL. Despite their denials, it is pretty plain to see what they did with Crimea, and what they plan to do now.
