Posted in: 'Do not come': Harris seeks 'hope at home' for Guatemalans See in context

You think Guatemalans wearing t-shirts that read “Trump Won” proves he did win? Wow.

No, but it proves that there are people in other countries that also supported Trump when the mainstream media plus you keep preaching that he broke ties with every single country on the planet except Russia. You will do your best to ignore other voices though and focus on your "breath of fresh air" Biden.

Oh, that's weird. I remember hearing a lot about how it was so awful that we needed a wall to stop all the caravans coming to kill everyone.

You heard about that in 2015/2016. Didn't hear about that from 2016-2020. In fact, you can go see the many interviews with those waiting at the border that they didn't even dare to attempt to come across the border when Trump was in office. lol I even heard Biden's team was going to patch up parts of the wall instead of your ultimate dream of bulldozing it and stomping on the bricks as they do it.

How many times did the former guy or little Mikey visit?

One, Biden designated Kamala to be in charge of the border crisis. Two, there wasn't much of a border crisis before Biden opened his mouth about letting immigrants in easier.

They should focus on Japan first. This, however, is called vaccine politics. Japan reportedly is also sending a ton to Taiwan as well. They are trying to win the heart and favor of other countries in case they are needed in a scuffle with China. China is doing the same as well though there aren't many takers as of yet.

more Trump articles. Thought everyone just wanted him gone?

I should have bet the many here that said he would disappear and no one would ever hear about him in the news again. I would have been rich!

Also not all of it has to do with virus fears. Some volunteers quit because they worry about their peers and neighbors talking about them to each other. Neighbors talk big time in rural and suburban neighborhoods and attending these unpopular Games is not a good look.

This is the dumbest and most wasteful endeavor that State could embark on.

I am from California too and have you seen what has been happening to the major cities such as LA and SF? Homelessness is out of control. On my last trip to LA early 2020, homeless camps have completely taken over the places like Venice Beach, Santa Monica and much of Hollywood. Syringes were all over the sidewalks. Also I heard many drugstores have closed in SF due to uncontrollable shoplifting. California needs to focus on California issues.

By that time the only ones fully vaccinated will probably be 65 or older. They won't have to worry about high-fives and loud cheering from elderly people unless it includes the drunk old men I witness at Hanshin Tigers games lol

But rather than throwing a tantrum, most people just get on with their job.

Unfortunately there are a few of those that can only grin and bear it for so long then they reach that breaking point and explode. A Welsh guy I knew here many years back exploded at one of his students because she said that he used chopsticks so well. He screamed at her that he had been in Japan for decades so of course he could use chopsticks and what kind of sick person she was for saying that. He didn't last much longer in Japan after that. I have been in Japan for a long time too and just smile and say thank you for similar remarks. Cooler heads prevail.

Good for her!

Boy times have changed. When Marshawn Lynch didn't speak and when Cam Newton left the press conference early after the Super Bowl, everyone here and on social media were calling them "thugs." Now everyone has hopped on the woke train and all resistance is considered cool. I wonder what 5 years later will bring.

People are quick to jump on the bandwagon but I bet the very same people will be glued to their TV sets cheering on their compatriots.

It is always this way. I have been reading this site for awhile. People who are complaining were many of the same people that were whining when Tokyo won the bid. They also complain about each Olympics violating human rights then turn around and comment about the events right after they happen.

Yesterday, an Asian-American coach and former NFL player Eugene Chung talked about what a team told him when he went to interview for a head coaching job recently. They told him that they couldn't hire him because because he wasn't a minority. He said when looked in the mirror that he was a "minority." They said he wasn't the minority that they were looking for. Hollywood probably has the same line of thinking.

That is not correct.

"The Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University found a 12.5 percent increase in incidents reported by police last year in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego and San Jose, California. "

Every city you highlighted here have Democrat mayors with the exception of 2. San Diego has Republican mayor but non-white population is 58%. San Antonio has an Independent mayor and white population is 24%.
