The solution is incredibly simple! https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/14/covid-india-authorizes-use-of-russias-sputnik-v-vaccine.html

The Japanese government should do it before we are talking about the 5th, 6th and 7th waves.

But the important part is when they did it,

I read a few sentences and then skipped to the end and saw this. No, the important part is that they were highly confident in the vaccine. They didn't recruit unemployed workers or broke students to test it on but injected themselves with it. And the statements those Russian biologists made in August, which gained them the ire of Big Pharma, have proven to be correct. At least 100s of lives, probably many, many more have been saved as a result. That is important. It's now a proven fact the vaccine is highly effective and if not perfectly safe, by far the safest of the highly effective vaccines. You have to come to terms with the now proven fact those Russian microbiologists knew exactly what they were doing. They never needed or wanted Big Pharma's permission.

The Chinese vaccines seem very safe but quite a bit less effective that Sputnik V. I'd also be happy if the Japanese government bought the Chinese vaccines. Less effective but better than nothing as they seem very safe.

So wonderful that the Russian population is avoiding it. Vlad won’t even confirm which one he got. One would think if it were so great he’d have taken it publicly.

Since mass vaccination began, after phase 3 trails were completed, how has Russia fared? Without any lockdown and opened schools. According to Putin himself, all 3 Russian vaccines are highly safe and effective. He didn't want to promote one over the others. Is there something wrong or strange in that?

No, that is the opposite of good science, the vaccine may be safe and effective according to the published data, but that do not justify skipping the phase III trials just to have it approved. Prices are not what makes vaccines tested first, ethical treatment of human patients is.

yeah sure. Big Pharma and it's stock holders were outraged. Western governments whose tax-payers granted Big Pharma billions of $ to create a vaccine weren't happy either. They insisted the creators of the vaccine were mistaken in their confidence in it and should cease immediately. Big Pharma actually hired a firm in Russia to lobby the government there to postpone the rollout of the vaccine. The Russians rejected that and now it is clear, the science proven, safety and high efficacy on display in 60+ countries and rapidly increasing. By this time next week it'll probably be 70+ countries. Right now I'm only interested in the Japanese government buying it ASAP. Because I'm sick of this pandemic life. Probably too late to save the Olympic games.

Of course they did phase 3 trials. At first only in Russia but now in several countries.

Yeah that'll boost confidence in vaccines! Sputnik is the only vaccine that was approved before completing phase 3 testing, it is that good!!

Yeah, it's also the only vaccine in use in 60+ countries, after tens of millions of doses administered, no reports of severe side effects or lack of efficacy. Easy to produce and deploy. Can we stored in a normal refrigerator one can buy at Yodobashi Camera.

The bottom line is, those Russians weren't too busy looking at Big Pharma stock prices to do good science. It's now proven their confidence in the vaccine was correct.

If the government doesn't make a move to buy Sputnik V ASAP, we are going to be talking about 5th wave soon. Then 6th wave, 7th and etc.

They were supplied with over 17 million tons of war supplies by the allies to keep them from being over run by Germany.

They "bought" all that material. Stalin said right from the start that the USSR needed from "the little allies" (what Stalin called them) much more than the war materials was for their armies to stop sitting around the UK, *** each other and open a second front.

So why is China the worlds biggest pariah state?

Don't mistake "the world" for USA, Canada, Australia and UK. China's population and real economy is larger than those 4 combined.

Freedom for everyone to think for themselves and to criticize and blame bad leadership when needed.

A walking, talking US regime propaganda poster such as yourself shows whether of not people are allowed blame the regime is meaningless as long as so many people are like you. People in Russia and China are generally far more critical of their regimes. The restoration of capitalism in Russia was a catastrophe so one could argue they should blame the regime more. IMO a poor argument but possible. The rests of the Chinese regime have obviously been outstanding, world-beating or however you want to characterize it but the people are still generally more critical of the ruling regime than in USA.

Freedom to make your own future and to be yourself. Freedom to be right or wrong and to learn from your mistakes without a big stick from big brother.

More banal cliches. Are you in Japan? Have you ever been off the farm in Iowa?

Wow a couple in the one article.

"WOW"

The US without Trump has global influence, the type China and Russia dream about.

Being a global pariah isn't a "good" thing or something that makes the state more powerful economically, militarily and etc.

It is the influence one gets by promoting democracy and freedom

Seriously. I know the corporate media and Western governments like to sputter on with banal cliches they know are utterly ridiculous but must you bother me with it? Freedom for who and do what?

No. Sorry but my "WOW" statements were absolutely accurate.

The biggest R&D spending and academic research output (that benefits industry) is still in the US. If anything, the US looks like it’s about to surge again.

The only time USA ever "surged" was when Europe and Soviet Union destroyed each other, China was at its weakest point in around 5000 years and Japan was wasting its resources trying to conquer China.

The rest is just nonsensical wishful thinking. China is the leading economic power now. Against Russia or China the only threat the US military poses is its nukes but the regime knows if they use them against Russia or China.

Two "old" dogs; they still can bite.

Can bite small or very backward countries but luckily for the populations of Japan and Germany, not more than that.

I welcome such alliance and strategic cooperation between these two countries.

And I hope more democratic nations will join such initiative to contain the Chinese militaristic expansion.

The greater is the alliance and the greater chance is to give to China a strong warning.

Especially these days when also Russia is provoking Ukraine massing two full armies on their border.

Corporate media and the US governments narrative parroted perfectly in a few sentences. Any thoughts of your own on the issue?

Germany is getting really uppity again. Sending naval vessels to the South China Sea. The defense minister saying "One can only speak to Russia in the language of force". Some things never change but it's getting dangerous for them. Time to slap them down again I fear.

Not really. Pretty obvious they are merely posturing. Talking the talk for the benefit of the imperialist powers while securing trade agreements with Germany's largest trading partner, China and continuing to build the pipeline with Germany's fastest growing trading partner, Russia. They realize USA is a washed up power.

U.S. backs Japan's decision to release Fukushima plant treated water

Now we know it's definitely a public health hazard but cheap. The super-rich only drink bottled water from Switzerland and eat salmon imported from Norway.

I would first fund serious serious studies on the real environmental impact on the fauna and flora which are poorly understood. They had ten years to do that, they did not. Another possibility would have been of course to try to pursue other routes, the most credible being searching for a site for deep burring of the containers. That's Japan trash, Japan should deal with it on its land. Japan could have ask for the expertise and help for such technologies to countries which are developing it like France. The reason why they are throwing it to the sea is that it's the cheapest solution.

I see. Well you seem to know much more about the science than me. Wouldn't burying the tanks create a ticking time bomb for the ground water? I'd like to think that if Japan had a large area of in-arable land, the ruling regime would have disposed of in Japan. Of course the mountains are in-arable but the water runs off them into the cities and farms.

How convenient, just throw it to the sea. Japan has been such a disgrace in the gestion of this since already the first reactor blew up.

Is there any other solution? The company handled it very badly to start with. Execs should have been arrested and company nationalized. But now it's done, I think the only solution is to decontaminate the water as well as possible, release it into the sea and then pump the newly contaminated water into the tanks for decontamination.

Posted in: Japanese hospital worker infected with coronavirus after 2 vaccine shots See in context

Now, that’s just plain dishonesty.

Michigan reported 74 deaths last weekend. Where did you read those 74 people were vaccinated?

I didn't open the links. Only looked at the search results. So it's correct one says "3 deaths after being vaccinated" and one says "100s of deaths after vaccination"? So the middle ground is 10s of deaths. Even one death is too many for a vaccine touted as being "100% effective against severe infection", isn't it?

-12 ( +4 / -16 )

Posted in: Japanese hospital worker infected with coronavirus after 2 vaccine shots See in context

So what’s the angle?

The CDC, WHO and leading experts all across the globe are being paid off by ‘corporate’ media to promote a dangerous vaccine? But it isn’t happening with Sputnik which you see as the only option?

No. Wall Street is giving the CDC, corporate media and Big Pharma directions. As for the WHO, they have merely said the benefits of vaccines outweigh risks. Maybe that's true. Tnat's probably true. I don't know. I'd prefer to watch the experiment rather than take part in it.

As for Sputnik V, I think it's not the only option. It seems the Chinese vaccines are safe but there is problems with the efficacy. Until recently I thought the same about the AstraZeneca vaccine. Safe but ineffective. I was wrong. Maybe I'll be wrong about Sputnik V and Chinese vaccines but for the moment, those are the only one's I'd take.

Sputnik V is in use in 50+ countries and no reports of severe side effects or lack of efficacy. It seems pretty good, doesn't it?

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Posted in: Japanese hospital worker infected with coronavirus after 2 vaccine shots See in context

Here’s a challenge.

Find a media report about the 10’s of people who have died in Michigan from the virus.

I did a DuckDuckGo search for "Michigan Covid deaths vaccine" and the first 3 entries were "3 deaths after being vaccinated", next "100s of deaths after being vaccinated", next "74 deaths after being vaccinated".

I could do something similar in regard to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines being advertised as "100 effective against severe Covid infection". I guess "severe" is open to interpretation but maybe we can agree it's "severe" if it's fatal.

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

Posted in: Japanese hospital worker infected with coronavirus after 2 vaccine shots See in context

As indicated previously, I am not taking the shot. And this leaves more vaccine for anyone else who wants it.

No way in the world I'm talking the Pfizer or Moderna shots. If others want to take part in the experiment, I wish them well but I'll watch on from the sidelines.

-5 ( +9 / -14 )

Posted in: Japanese hospital worker infected with coronavirus after 2 vaccine shots See in context

There is a lot of evidence the Pfizer vaccine is far more dangerous and far less effective than advertised. The corporate media tries to cover it up but it's proving difficult due to the virtual tsunami of reports. In Michigan alone, 10s of people fully vaccinated have died from the virus yet corporate media tells us both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are 100% effective against severe Covid infection. In Michigan they didn't say which vaccine(s) it was but that means Pfizer or Moderna. If it were the the J&J vaccine, they would have just said it.

I think Sputnik V is the only solution. I know a lot of people hate the idea of a state-owned lab in Russia with no ties to Wall Street 'out-sciencing' Big Pharma but that reality is getting increasingly hard to deny, like it or not. Not as if it's a new phenomena. Most scientific breakthroughs in the capitalist era have come about via state-owned institutions. I would have said "tax payer funded institutions" but that's no longer accurate as Big Pharma took massive tax-payer grants to make a vaccine for Covid.

feel free to fly to russia and inject the vodka vaccine in your vein. The only vaccine I'll take will be made in Japan, foreign companies/countries put profits or other nefarious agendas before human lives

I suspect if it isn't approved in Japan, someone will organize vaccine vacations in Russia. In Europe companies are already making reservations for when Russia opens its borders to foreigners.

I also wanted and expected a vaccine made in Japan early on but seems Japan has really gone into decline more than most of us realize. Seems Japan doesn't have the resources or technology to make a vaccine.

was employing irony to mild comic effect. Of course I suspected you were editing the information to suit your narrative.

Comic effect? What the hell are you talking about? Switzerland is the mother of all rogue states. In any civilized society that criminal state would have been brought to its knees a long time ago. And you want everyone to know you are Swiss....... That's some "narrative" all its own.

Pretty sure you forgot to finish your sentence.

No, didn't forget anything.

The Argentinian President was covid positive in march after receiving the Sputnik V vaccine in January/February

Precisely. Though there are contrasting accounts as to whether he had taken one or two shots. Regardless, around 1 in 11 or 12 are still susceptible after taking Sputnik V. But like the Argentine President, that one will only experiance a very minor and short-term sickness.

I'm interested to know what the hell happened in Michigan. They reported that 10s of people died after being fully vaccinated. They didn't say whether it was Pfizer or Moderna. Both reported around 95% efficacy and 100% against severe illness. But now we know that isn't true. Which was it?

I know a lot of people are upset about a state-owned lab with no ties to Wall Street utterly out-science Big Pharma. But who doesn't want this to be over ASAP? This is why I'm enthusiastic about Sputnik V and very much want the Japanese government to reject Wall Street and the US regime, put Japan first and buy Sputnik V ASAP. With the existing capacity in Japan, I imagine they could produce and deploy Sputnik V very quickly.

All of the current vaccines are largely untested, but it is only the AZ one which is coming under the microscope? Why?

Not only side effects but lack of efficacy. Before South Africa resold their stocks of the AstraZeneca/ Oxford University vaccine, they reported 9, yes 9% efficacy.

China, the US, UK, Cuba, Russia are all doing great using their own vaccines. Sweden was also in on the AstraZeneca vaccine but now even they don't want to use it.

But it's only Sputnik V which is highly effective and safe. Easy to produce, deploy and cheap makes it almost perfect. Even Germany, Austria and France have committed to buying it. What the hell is the Japanese government doing in not making any moves to buy it???? Specially with the Olympics coming up. One would think they could put aside American dictated geopolitical considerations for the benefit of public health and saved money for a few months, but no. Not possible it seems.

Posted in: Japan considers prioritizing Olympic athletes for COVID-19 vaccination See in context

Had Japan taken this pandemic seriously and scrapped the idea of even having the olympics. The money that has been thrown at the delay of 1 year might could have BEEN REDIRECTED to development of their own homegrown vaccine

The money redirected on the one year delay was nothing compared to the money that had already been spent preparing for the Olympics. Now it's known the Russian vaccine is highly effective and despite many millions of doses administered all over the world, no reports of severe side effects, the government could have already gone a long way to getting on top of the pandemic by buying it.

Even though the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine (they are not saying which) is far less effective than advertised but still often produce severe side-effects, one would still think if people have been vaccinated could enter Japan for the games.

On the one hand the government is overly cautious about not letting in foreigners but on the other, some bars are still packed on Saturday nights. Doesn't make sense to me.
