@AG is right.

Restaurants should be urged to close at 7.30pm to stop the spread of Covid19.

I saw some Tokyo

Olympics 2020 souvenirs, clothes, t-shirts, towels and mementos reduced by up to 30% at a big sports store in Osaka today. Pens, Keychains, mascot dolls have also been tossed into UFO catcher machines at some game centers.

A terrible tragedy for both families. Nothing to gain by charging the teen with manslaughter. Time, resources and effort should be put into teenage depression, bullying and suicide.

Trash everywhere in my neighborhood in East Osaka. Rivers, ponds, streets, carparks, the park, trash everywhere.

I would post photos here if I could.

Sadly yet again I feel the whole vaccination situation is going to balloon into a bureaucratic mess.

Vaccine Czar Kono?

C'mon man!

It's also very disingenuous of the media to refer to his comments as a "gaffe". Mori knows exactly what he said and it was his stated opinion.

The bigger issue it seems on J-TV wide/news shows this afternoon is not the comments he made but the realization and shame that people overseas via their media know what was said.

My (Japanese) wife nearly blew a gasket yesterday when she learned of this dingbat's comments regarding holding the Tokyo Olympic "no matter what the situation is with Covid19".

This morning I'm wondering whether or not to tell her about this latest statement.

Anyway it's getting coverage on several overseas news sites.

“No matter what situation would be with the coronavirus, we will hold the Games,” Yoshiro Mori, who is also a former Japanese prime minister, told lawmakers.

What a reckless and idiotic statement to make.

"Sexism, harassment, a web of codependent relationships that hamper reporting -- the Japanese media industry is fraught with issues that are often skirted around or left under the carpet"

This occurred on a Monday night nine days ago.

What a life these Japanese politicians have.

Meanwhile four little restaurants in my neighborhood are obeying the SOE request to close by 8pm or have even decided not to reopen until February 7th. My daughter's friend is a part time worker at one of those restaurants and she has had no income since December.

These lawmakers are a disgrace to Japan and have failed the Japanese people.

A Japanese gent and his wife living in my apartment building traveled twice to Europe last year. Once to England and once to Spain. I know for a fact they did not self isolate on their return and on one occasion drove to Nagano to deliver souvenirs to extended family members. When we kind of asked them aren't they supposed to stay home upon returning they just said "it's okay, we don't have coronavirus, we wore masks everywhere".
