The third or fourth mass shooting this last week. But still soon will come along those who try and tell us guns don't kill people. Or gun rights are more important than people.

Repeat and rinse.

demonize 107 million gun owners,

No one knows exactly how many gun owners there are because of the lack of registration. Less than 46% of households own a gun.

America is the most violent of the G7 countries and more violent than most of the G20 ones. Maybe 2-3 more violent. But none of those is 1st world ones.

Why should it go anywhere? It's ours, isn't it? :-)

Except it does not.

The land might belong to Scotland but all the nuke subs, trident missiles etc belong to the British government/people.

The Trump administration completed its reduction of forces to 2,500 troops in January 2021. This was the lowest number of American soldiers in Afghanistan since 2001.

As of January 2021, there are more than seven contractors for each U.S. military service member remaining in Afghanistan, amounting to over 18,000 contractors as of January 2021, according to figures from U.S. Central Command.

When it comes to gun crimes, gun homicides, mass shootings, America is the most violent country of all the G7 countries. Also ahead even with the G20 countries.

Liverpool kept its hopes of a top-four finish alive by beating Southampton 2-0 and moving into sixth place.

We won but it wasn’t much of an exciting game to watch but this time of the season I’ll settle for the three points.

Posted in: If you have been working remotely since the pandemic began, what kind of work style would you prefer after (if) the pandemic has been eliminated? See in context

I have worked from home for decades. But it’s not so easy. I have a studio at home and sometimes an outside studio for painting larger works and storing stuff. In London, I had to be strict with my friends “just popping around” because they knew I would be there. I had to let them know it was my work time not my leisure time. Some did not take it too kindly.

Requires discipline. Unless you live alone, having separate work space is a must. Do all the routines you do when you go to an office including dressing. Your day needs to begin with some exercise like walking a km or two to get the mind and body ready.

I mentally go to work and then go home, usually around 6 pm. When I go downstairs I tell my wife “tadaima”, I’m home! Usually at that time I go into the garden to water the plants.

All of my business appointments must be Mon-Fri daytime only. We also have home students who are allowed to visit Mon-Fri.

That’s very tough considering the number of alcohol dépendant here . Imagine going to an Izakaya with your coworkers and ordering the kids drink bar menu, choice between Coke, Orange juice or Fanta. Kanpai !

Yesterday took the wife to an expensive fish restaurant for her birthday. No alcohol. Green tea and water. Did save some money.

Of course England would not be an island,

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland were never islands. Britain and Great Britain with the countries England, Wales and Scotland, form into the British Isles. Northern Ireland and Ireland would also be an island.

Always confusing even to those born there.

My Scottish name is Wallace, a good old fighting name.

Sir William Wallace was a Scottish knight who became one of the main leaders during the First War of Scottish Independence. Along with Andrew Moray, Wallace defeated an English army at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in September 1297.

London holds a veto over a referendum. Unlikely to be given. What next? Revolution?

The anti-vaxxers on this post trying to justify their refusal to help out with beating the pandemic.

Moving to Florida and Texas seems to be the helping remedy, including the kids

So you will be moving your Japanese wife/kids back home then?

Nearly all of the anti-vaxxers on this post live in Japan, and not America.

COVID-19 Vaccines in Florida

https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/vaccines/

Texas 20 million vaccinated. 8.36 million fully vaccinated. Pop 29 million.

Or you could wait for the Japanese vaccinations.

Yesterday, visited a local fish restaurant, which is mentioned in Michelin, they served sashimi with wasabi paste. With sushi and sashimi, I don't put the wasabi in the soy sauce, I put a dot amount on the sushi or sashimi then dip a corner into the soy sauce. Not to soak with the soy sauce. Two very different tastes.

Trump won't even be a candidate in 2024.

We went through this in 2016 more like, you HOPE he doesn’t run, but you have no way of knowing that, none of us.

Unfortunately, your predictions usually turn out to be unreliable. You even said Trump would never win the election in 2016. Four years is a long time in politics. Personally, I don't care if he runs or not because he'll never win again. No single term president ever did. The GOP might not even survive in its current direction.

Anti-vaxxers like yourself, are slowing the progress to herd immunity and allowing mutations to happen.

To date, there hasn't been a single cent tax increase.

The pandemic recovery needs to be paid for. Earners on less than $400,000 won't have any tax increases. Corporate taxes need to be increased along with capital gains tax over a certain amount. Rich people use capital gains to avoid higher taxes.

But then you stated you have removed your money from the country so not helping out.
